Google Play Store Compliance Policy
Purpose
This app connects with certified intrusion (burglar) and fire alarm panels to allow SMS-based configuration and to receive panel alerts such as fire, intrusion, or system events.
The app is designed to improve user awareness and responsiveness during alarm events.
It is not a replacement for certified emergency equipment or emergency responders.
1. SMS & Messaging
SMS is the only available communication channel supported by these alarm panels.
The app sends only predefined SMS commands required by the panel’s firmware (for example: arm, disarm, reset, status check, add/delete user numbers, update signatures).
All SMS commands are initiated by the user’s explicit action inside the app. (To see text messages Click here)
No automated SMS is sent without user consent or action.
SMS is never used for marketing, promotional content, or personal texting.
Users are informed of potential carrier SMS charges before enabling SMS functions.
Users can disable SMS functionality in the system settings at any time.
Policy Basis:
This SMS functionality falls under Google Play’s “permitted use case for connected device communication” because it is necessary to operate the user’s own alarm panel hardware, which has no internet or API interface.
It does not fall under any invalid use case (e.g., no marketing, no analytics from SMS, no access to personal SMS, no control of other devices).
2. Notifications (Push & Local)
Push notifications (via FCM) and local notifications are used only for alarm-related alerts and system status messages.
No promotional or unrelated notifications are sent.
Users can manage or disable specific notification categories at any time in settings.
3. User Privacy & Data Protection
The app collects only the following essential information:
* Alarm panel phone number (for SMS communication)
* Panel ID and device ID (for pairing and logging)
* Event logs (such as arm/disarm actions, alarm alerts)

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.
No user data is sold or shared with advertisers or any unauthorized third party.
Users can request export or permanent deletion (Click here for more details) of their data at any time.
4. Permissions & Google Play Compliance
SMS Permission Justification:
Required only because the panels communicate solely by SMS.
This qualifies under Google Play’s permitted use case for device-specific security communication.
The app does not access or control the user’s phone beyond the SMS communication needed for the alarm panel.
Other Permissions:
All other sensitive permissions (e.g., Notifications) are requested only when required for core features.
Every permission request is explained clearly at runtime and requires user consent.
Users can revoke any permission through system settings at any time.
5. Security & Reliability
Secure authentication is used for panel pairing.
All user-initiated alarm actions are logged for accountability and visible to the user.
Alarm panels continue to function locally even if the app or network is unavailable.
The app is tested regularly on supported Android versions for reliability and performance.
6. User Safety & Disclaimer
The app serves as a communication interface with the user’s own alarm panel.
It is not a substitute for emergency responders or certified safety systems.
